The radar caught birds and insects after they all began to fly prior to an earthquake in Oklahoma. It’s pretty common for flying animals to be caught on radar. Actually, it’s possible to see insect emergence, bats feeding, and other cool things like that on the radar.

One piece of advice: stay off the interstates as much as you can! You will see a lot more that way, and it doesn’t take that much longer.

We are vegetarians and had a great time in Texas during our big road trip earlier this year! We went in with a similar attitude; drive through fast, get out, but in fact, it was among my favorites of a 24-state road trip. Be sure to find a Tex Mex restaurant, and get a bean burrito or mushroom quesadilla. Worlds better than Taco Bell.
